INTRODUCTION TO BIDOUP

Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park, with Bidoup peak at 2,287m, is an ideal destination for wilderness exploration activities such as forest trekking (trekking, hiking), camping, bird watching, conquering mountain peaks, and experiencing the life of the K’ho Cil and K’ho Lac ethnic groups in this wild land.

The 1,300-year-old Po Mu tree is one of the most outstanding highlights of the Bidoup tour that many people are eager to visit. Have you ever wondered what a thousand-year-old tree looks like? This ancient Po Mu tree has stood firmly in the primeval forest for more than 1,300 years. Standing before its solemn and mysterious presence, you will truly feel and understand the wonder and magnificence of nature.

The Bidoup tour will take you to a rare pristine beauty. This is one of the most beautiful primary forests in Vietnam, preserved almost entirely with 1,933 plant species, including 62 rare species listed in Vietnam’s Red Book. Especially, littering is strictly prohibited in the forest.

Trekking through diverse forest terrains, crossing rivers by manually pulled rafts, enjoying mountain-style BBQ, and many other exciting experiences are waiting for you.

BIDOUP TREKKING TOUR PROGRAM

Night 01: HO CHI MINH CITY – DA LAT
  • 22:00: Bi Tour guide picks up guests at the meeting point and departs for Da Lat City. On the way, the guide interacts and gets to know the group. The group stops in Dong Nai for a short break and stays overnight on the bus.
DAY 01: DA LAT – BIDOUP NUI BA NATIONAL PARK
  • 05:30: Arrive in Da Lat City, the group stops for breakfast and personal hygiene.
  • 06:30: Depart to Klong Klanh ranger station. The group prepares personal belongings, warms up, and listens to instructions before starting the journey to conquer the “roof of Lam Vien Plateau.”
  • You will cross the Da Nhim suspension bridge and trek through dense primary forest with a well-preserved ecosystem. On the first day, you will trek through humid forest terrain with continuous steep slopes, which is quite a challenge.
  • 11:30: The group has lunch at a scenic viewpoint along the way, where you can admire the vast forest and take in the panoramic view of Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park. Especially, check in at the 1,300-year-old Po Mu tree, known as the “Messenger of Time.”
  • 14:00: Continue conquering a steep 300m slope that challenges your endurance. The reward is reaching the peak of Bidoup at 2,260m above sea level. Then continue trekking to the campsite, located at the intersection of pine forest and evergreen forest at an altitude of 2,000m. You can enjoy the sunset in the misty mountain scenery of Da Lat.
  • Evening: The night atmosphere is peaceful with only you and the forest. Enjoy fresh Central Highlands air and admire the natural scenery. The group has dinner with a BBQ meal using forest spices and vegetables collected along the way, gathering around a warm campfire surrounded by mist.
  • Overnight at the campsite.

DAY 02: BIDOUP NUI BA NATIONAL PARK – DA LAT – HO CHI MINH CITY
  • 05:30: Wake up, have breakfast, and welcome the first sunlight through the forest canopy. If lucky, you can witness the sea of clouds – one of the most spectacular sights in Bidoup National Park. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the cool morning air.
  • 08:00: Pack belongings and prepare to depart. Today’s route passes through temperate coniferous forest instead of dense tropical forest, offering a more open and gentle terrain, but still quite long with about 17km of trekking through forest and streams. The group rests and chats with forest rangers at a station deep in the forest, crosses the Da Nhim River, and has a picnic lunch in the pine forest.
  • 15:00: Exit the forest, completing the journey to conquer the roof of Lam Vien Plateau. The group boards the vehicle back to Da Lat for shower and rest.
  • Free time to explore Da Lat City at night.
  • 22:00: Depart for Ho Chi Minh City. Estimated arrival time is 05:00.
